Matt Anderson Quintet "Songs of the Ridings"

Commissioned by Creative North Yorkshire, Matt Anderson has composed and arranged a suite that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Yorkshire. There are original compositions and adaptations of traditional material, all inspired by the songs and literature of Gods own county!

With a vocal/saxophone-led jazz quintet featuring well-known vocalist Kari Bleivik (last seen at Seven with the Tommy Evans Orchestra) and Chapel Allerton resident Jamil Sheriff on piano this meeting of the folk and contemporary jazz traditions promises a relevant and accessible set of music.
