Autumn workshops for instrumentalists

 

Tony Kofi, Benn Clatworthy, Cecilia Coleman, Mike Janisch and Nicholas Meier are among the tutors for the Seven Jazz workshops this autumn

 

The Saturday workshops will start again in September 18 September, 2-30 to 4-30 pm featuring as well as the regular workshops, some star name tutors. UK saxman Tony Kofi (pictured), and top American stars Benn Clatworthy, Cecilia Coleman, Swizz guitarist Nicholas Meier and bassist Mike Janisch will be tutoring the jazz workshop as well as appearing in the evening concerts.

The dates for the workshops are

  •  Saturday 18 September, 2-30 to 4-30 pm
  •  Saturday 2 October, 2-5 (Tony Kofi, UK sax player)
  •  Saturday 9 October, 2.30-4.30
  •  Saturday 16th October 2.30-4.30
  •  Saturday 30 October, 2-5 (Benn Clatworthy and Cecilia Coleman, Los Angeles saxman and New York pianist)
  •  Thursday 11 November 6.15-7.15pm (Nicolas Meier, Swiss guitarist)
  •  Saturday 20 November, 2-30 to 4-30 pm
  •  Saturday 27 November, 2-30 to 4-30 pm

 Sunday 28 November: Jazz Cafe workshop gig, 1-4

  •  Sat 11 December, 2-5 (Mike Janisch, US bass player) 

Regular workshops £10/8 concessions, star name workshops £15/12 concession (with discounts for regular workshop attendees), Nicholas Meier workshop £8/6 concessions

Evenings 7.30-10pm at the Methodist Centre Chapel Allerton

 

 

Guitarist Dominic Moore runs a new jazz workshop at the Methodist Hall in Chapel Allerton Centre (see map.  The workshops are not tutored as the jazz workshop is at Seven - they are informal, with a focus on sharing skills and giving you an opportunity to stretch your playing.

 

He'll be resuming the workshop on 10th September, but only running it fortnightly this time round. Dom'sbeen thinking of running alternate 'free' or more improvisational sessions followed by a more standard based workshop, depending on what people are happy with.Anyway the dates fixed at the Methodist Hall are:
